Miles Noel Studio
Portrait Photographer, Graphic Designer & Illustrator
{ Located in Perth, WA - works with clients Australia wide }
I'm a creative portrait photographer & multidisciplinary artist who loves connecting with people through photography.
My professional photography journey began about 15 years ago, when as a formally trained graphic designer, I noticed an ongoing need for quality photography when producing marketing content. My background is in graphic design so I understand colour, composition, and real life applications, which brings strength to my photography. I'm also an illustrator and painter, which has seen me move into the realm of documenting artwork (both smaller artworks and public art), and teaching workshops on photographing artwork.
Describe your ideal client/project
I like a client who is open to collaboration, as it takes a combined effort to make the best possible photography with the resources available. A thorough briefing is great so I know I can deliver on time and budget, but it's also beneficial to leave some time and space for creative suggestions. Ultimately the best client is someone who goes into the process with a positive outlook, and respects the photography process.
What's your style?
I would say my style is natural and down to earth, not too fussy or over produced. I love shooting normal people in their natural / favourite environments, with natural and studio lighting. Simplicity is key to a good portrait, so the spirit of the person shines through. I always strive to create a fun and relaxed experience for the people I’m capturing. I'm organised, work swiftly and pragmatically, but also allow space for play! I have an adventurous spirit, so enjoy going out of my comfort zone to discover and connect with new places and capture a great shot. I approach each project with enthusiasm and positivity, no matter how big or small.
What kind of projects are you looking for?
I enjoy working with clients both big and small, especially those who promote education, arts, design, culture, health, and sustainability. As a portrait photographer I also enjoy collaborating with creative business professionals to show them in their best light, and when appropriate, being more open to create a fantasy or vision. I'm open to anything, but would love to collaborate more with other creatives, connect with people doing interesting things, and shoot more portraiture.
What do you charge?
I work to an hourly rate, ($240/hr+gst) minimum 2 hours. I have half day and full day rates which are slightly discounted. The rate Includes all emailing, planning, travel, lighting setup, editing, enhancing and delivery of high and low resolution photos via Dropbox, backed up online for one year.
